What was the highlight of Hôtel Le Choiseul Amboise
Great convenient location
The location is excellent and walkable to the town in minutes. The staff was also very friendly and easy to communicate with both in advance of our trip as well as onsite. The rooms were quite large by European standards and we appreciated they had them ready a couple hours early given our weariness after an overseas flight.
The property was clean, although a bit dated, and we understand they plan for an update in the next year or so. The shower head is also lower than ideal, which was a larger issue for me given my height. A bar/lounge was located on the property, and the staff were willing to pour a beer/wine as requested, but it was not technically open during the three evenings we stayed, at least during after dinner hours. And the wi-fi was almost non-existent. However, despite these few issues, we would stay here again given the location and the staff.

Fabulous!
We loved our stay at Hôtel Le Choiseul. The room was beautifully furnished and decorated and had a stunning view over the Loire River. The decor is getting a bit old and the house itself is old but fabulous. Not a 5 star hotel, but still a wonderful place to stay! The staff were very accommodating and informative. We ate in the restaurant one of the nights and the food was very good. A short stroll into Amboise and very close to the Chateau. One of the day's the sun came out and we took the opportunity to have a swim (I'm sure other guests probably thought we were mad, but we are from NZ we're used to cold water!!). After looking at several of the towns in the Loire, I think Amboise is the best place to stay.
Nothing really, I'd definitely stay here again.

Great room looking out on River. Excellent food and friendly staff. Lovely swimming pool. Well situated.
